In addition to its huge selection of books, the library also hosts regular classes in a variety of subjects and skills. Franklin Public Library is the first public lending library in continuous existence in the country and has a rich and colorful history.
Though small in size, the Franklin Historical Museum is big on history. This quaint museum and gallery boasts over 4,000 artifacts, many local to Franklin and surrounding New England. Free admission makes it the perfect afternoon trip for families, church groups, or youth organizations.
Don’t miss the annual Strawberry Stroll, held at the start of each summer. Held in the heart of downtown, visitors can enjoy live music, dancing, craft stalls, snacks, and most importantly, the event’s famous strawberry shortcakes.
